Off Piste Skiing in Morzine and Avoriaz

Off-Piste Skiing

The Portes du Soleil is a huge area, and has a large and varied range of off-piste. Everything from high, steep couloirs to open faces to tree runs through the forest, there's a good range to challenge all levels of off-piste skier and snowborder. A good range of lessons and guides are available, so if you are looking to your first off-piste experience, or are powder-hungry looking for new areas to challenge you, then there's the guides and instructors here to help.

Off-piste Guides & Instruction

We can gladly arrange guides for you. You can hire a guide for the day for your own small group, or your can join existing groups to be shown the best powder the Portes du Soleil has to offer.

Avoriaz Alpine Ski School offer a great afternoon course in Backcountry skiing. Every Wednesday they offer a 2.5 hr back country skiing lesson, including all safety equipment and training. Please do expect the odd walk to get to the best snow. The course is 60 Euros per person, and needs a minimum of 4 people to run. For more information you can see their website - Avoriaz Alpine Ski School Back Country Course

If you've an interest in off-piste skiing please do let us know when you book - its a very common question people have about what everyone else's levels and interests are, so it's great if we can recommend a certain week where there are other off-piste enthusiasts as well.
