Here in the UK the snow is excellent. The base depth has dramatically improved at all five Scottish resorts following the heavy snowfalls across the UK over the last week. Low temperatures, around -6C, mean the snow is nice and powdery in most places. New snow fell over the weekend across Austria. St Johann received an impressive 40cm of fresh snow on Sunday. As you might expect their conditions are excellent. Knee deep powder can be found both on and off piste on the upper runs. The rest of Austria received between 10cm and 15cm of fresh snow and more is forecast this week. Skiers and boarders heading to France this week are in for a treat. Many resorts received between 20cm and 40cm of fresh snow this weekend, especially in the southern areas. Isola 2000 received 40cm and their three metre base provides great snow coverage. Passo Tonale in Italy now has an incredible 550cm of snow on its upper slopes. This is an increase of 110cm over the weekend. Sunny skies over most of Italy and mountains of fresh powder await anyone venturing out there this week. Utah and Colorado in America have seen lots of fresh snow. Alta and Snowbird received about 30cm of perfect powder over the weekend and another 20cm is forecast for Monday night. A temperature of -9C ensures the snow is in fantastic condition. The Skeena heli-ski area in Canada just keeps on receiving snow. They received 140cm of powder last week and another 15cm fell over the weekend. However, bad weather meant they couldn't operate on Saturday. The rest of British Columbia and Alberta received a bit of fresh snow but nothing significant. They are all skiing very well.
